The Spring/Summer couture shows are always a decadent delight, with this year being no exception. From Elie Saab to Valentino, Versace, Dior and Chanel, each collection showcased true passion and beautiful workmanship. Chanel's enchanting mixed-up-fairytale look was also echoed through the designs of Elie Saab and Valention; all traditionally picture perfect pretty, with a bit of a modern mussed up twist. Versace's militant power-dressing stemmed away from the perceived aesthetics of couture and embarked on something fresh whilst incorporating Versace's trademarks- sequins, pinstripes, bling, neon- making the show a sleek and sexy statement among the more angelic offerings.
Of course, I've mentioned my favourites but the collections from Gaultier, Giorgio Armani and Giambattista Valli were just as breathtaking. Gaultier, with its nod to Moroccan culture added a worldy twist to the shows, offering an inspiring westernised version encouraging us to channel our inner Moroccanista. Armani also seemed to draw on foreign inspiration, showcasing a collection with a Turkish slant, whilst incorporating the signature Armani emphasis of the trouser.
